About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer to lead and own the steel detailing process for critical infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to work on impactful projects while collaborating with a forward-thinking team dedicated to advancing Australia’s infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and take ownership of Structural Steel Detailing aligned with production and business goals.
Develop error-free deliverables by reviewing and updating vendor drawings and documents.
Create and maintain a library of construction details and standards.
Produce detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication using 3D modelling tools (Advance Steel/Tekla).
Ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards, particularly AS/NZS 1554 & AS/NZS 5131.
Collaborate closely with structural engineers and steel fabricators.
Perform quality control checks on drawings and manage client revisions.
Prepare as-built drawings and conceptual rigging arrangement plans.
Develop departmental standards, documentation, and structural libraries.

About You:

Degree or equivalent in Structural/Architectural drafting.
4+ years of experience in steel detailing or architectural drafting for steel buildings.
Expertise in 3D modelling software (Advance Steel or Tekla).
Strong knowledge of steel detailing, fabrication, and construction standards.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
