About You:

Proven experience in estimating within a technical or construction environment.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of construction processes, cost control, and project management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Proficiency in estimating tools and software.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Evaluation: Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
Cost Analysis: Develop detailed estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring all costs are captured and reflected in final tenders.
Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive tenders, meeting all requirements and deadlines while ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks to cost, schedule, and performance, and provide strategies for risk mitigation.
Vendor Coordination: Solicit and review tenders from vendors and subcontractors, maintaining strong relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on tender status, and clarify any discrepancies.
Data Management: Maintain a database of historical data for use in future estimates. Continuously update and improve estimating tools and techniques.
Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards, and stay informed about industry trends and changes.
