As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring our services continue to exceed market demands and expectations.
As a Senior Structural Engineer at GoframeIT, you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of steel framing structures. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structural analysis and design of residential and light commercial steel frames, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian codes and regulations.
- Evaluating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Selecting appropriate steel materials and profiles based on engineering standards, strength, durability, and cost considerations.
- Performing structural calculations and utilising advanced software tools to evaluate the strength and stability of steel framing structures.
- Collaborate with detailers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop efficient and cost-effective structural solutions.
- Review and approve shop drawings and construction documents related to steel framing.
- Evaluate project feasibility and propose alternative design options where necessary.
- Conducting on-site and remote inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Providing technical support to project teams and addressing any design or construction-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of project progress and outcomes.
- Continuously develop knowledge and skills in the field of structural engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Practicing Engineer or RPEQ (or equivalent)
- 6+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the steel framing industry.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of Australian design codes and regulations for steel structures.
- Experience in designing connections for steel members and selecting appropriate steel materials.
- Experience with SkyCiv software would be preferrable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, material properties, and construction techniques.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
