Position Overview:
You will play a critical role in the design and construction process by creating accurate and detailed 3D models for various projects. You will require a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, proficiency in using 3D modelling software, and have the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other project team members. You will work closely with the design team to develop models that meet project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modelling: Utilize specialized 3D modelling software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla Structures) to develop accurate and detailed 3D models of structural and architectural components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other project team members to understand project requirements and ensure the accurate representation of elements in the 3D models.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the 3D models, including model versions, revisions, and design changes, to ensure accurate project records and facilitate coordination among team members.
- Coordination and Clash Detection: Collaborate with other disciplines, such as MEP and architectural teams, to detect and resolve clashes or conflicts between different building systems in the 3D models.
- Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks on 3D models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications, standards, and best practices.
- Model Updates: Incorporate design changes, feedback, and revisions into the 3D models in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring alignment with project schedules and deadlines.
- Standards and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to structural 3D modelling, and implement them to improve efficiency and quality in model creation.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to junior modellers or team members who may require assistance with 3D modelling techniques, software functionalities, or project-specific requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong proficiency in 3D modelling software; Revit essential, AutoCAD, ACC, Strucsoft (MWF), Fusion 360/ Inventor experience an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design an advantage.
- Experience in coordinating with other disciplines, such as architects and engineers, to integrate different building systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and error-free 3D models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve clashes or conflicts in the 3D models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
