We are looking for a Welder to provide 1st class welding and trade skills and join our Trade and Production team part of the Maritime, Ship Repair Services domain. You will provide extensive trade skills in the welding fabrication area in support of the Marine business within a multi resources team, operating in various environments.
Key responsibilities:
Welding components and structures using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (down-hand, horizontal, vertical or overhead)
Fabrication of all types of steel work from drawings or samples in various types of metals.
Familiar with workshop machinery and the operation of mechanical workshops
Managing stores and welding equipment – issues and repairs / tests equipment
Willingness to undertake multi skilled activities in all aspects of ship repair ie, light and heavy fabrication, sheet metal pipe fabrication
About You
Experience within ship building/repair industry preferable or alternatively other heavy engineering fields ie, Mining, Marine, Power Stations, Gas Lines or Bridges.
Appropriate trade qualifications in Welding fabrication Heavy
Familiar with all welding process’s GMAW and MMAW.
Familiar with marine practices, ship layout and technical interpretation.
