Position Overview:
We are seeking a Modular Design Team Leader for our growing team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for developing and delivering innovative light gauge and structural steel solutions for modular building clients across Australia. In addition to a focus on innovation and developing a strong team, our ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong background in modular building design. As a steel modular Detailer, you will play a crucial role in transforming architectural designs into precise, buildable steel modules that set a new standard in modern construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create an environment of innovation and excellence,
- Collaborate with clients, estimators and fabricators to ensure the delivery of efficient modular designs,
- Establish Design Standards for both Light Gauge and Structural Steel Solutions,
- Deliver detailed drawings and models for steel modular structures using FrameCAD.
- Prepare fabrication and assembly instructions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Perform qualify checks and revisions.
- Coordinate with fabrication and construction teams to optimise designs or detailing issues.
- Maintain a knowledge of the latest developments in steel modular design and construction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in light gauge and structural detailing for modular construction.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes and construction methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field would be highly valued but is not essential for the role.
