In your role as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to carry out duties typically associated with both consultant and contractor Quantity Surveying and Project Management. You will be expected to engage responsibly in all aspects of your role while seeking appropriate support and guidance from senior members of staff. While not a core role you may be required to carry out Project Management Tasks should our scope of services require.
Supported by the Management and employees and as part of the team, your role involves close collaboration with the Operations Team and reporting to the Director and General Manager. Regular engagement with all Chrysalis staff members, and those outside of the operations when acting on behalf of Chrysalis, including Operations, Administration, Trades and Special Projects.
Qualification & Work Experience
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or above
- Minimum 1 year of work experience
Skills & Requirements
- Knowledge of construction methodology and order of works.
- Ability to adapt, problem solve, plan, and organise work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and Industry take-off/measurement software packages.
- Demonstrate effective project management skills in all tasks.
- Commercial construction and fit-out experience, from budget feasibilities to tender letting, to final account close out.
Key Responsibilities / Main Tasks
- To provide clear, timely and accurate information, advice and reports to team members.
- Supporting senior staff in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects.
- Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required.
- Maintain existing working relationships and develop new with clients, suppliers, contractors.
- Follow the company’s quality assurance process on all projects.
- Ensure standard documentation is used when presenting any external information.
- Attend, contribute and minute meetings.
- Carry out site visits/inspections.
- Working across a number of different projects where applicable.
- Commitment to study and achieve a professional qualification (MRICS or equivalent).
- Completion of weekly timesheets.
- Undertake relevant training as required by the organisation.
- Adapt to include any other duties requested by Senior staff.
- Accurate BOQ, Material take offs.
