About The Role
We are currently recruiting a Civil Estimator. The Estimator will oversee accurately prepare and submit quotations, budget estimates, and tender costs. Therefore, it calls for a capable applicant with extensive knowledge of the civil construction industry, and estimation environment.
Tasks Include
- Conduct site assessments to determine scope of works and costings
- Thoroughly review project plans, specifications, to determine project scope, construction requirements and estimate costs
- Review & analyze subcontractor quotes and negotiate to obtain best prices
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers to assist with quote requests and implementation methodology
- Provide subcontractor selections and recommendations to delivery teams
- Prepare take-offs and tender estimates, and prepare accurate and competitive bid proposals
- Prepare methodologies and programs for submissions when required
- Have a detailed understanding and experience in the civil and construction process, critical inspection points, permit requirements and WHS requirements
- Attend Pre-& Post tendering meetings
- Prepare tender handover documentation

- Appropriate Engineering Qualification
- Construction knowledge including processes and pricing
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Proven Ability to win and secure tenders
- Strong communication skills and ability to set expectations
- Excellent organizational abilities to liaise on multiple tenders & bids at any one time
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously
- Knowledge of building regulations and Australian codes and standards
- Intermediate computer skills including MS applications
- Full Driving license is essential
