The Opportunity
Our client is a multi-disciplined civil contractor specializing in:
- Water and sewer infrastructure
- Landfill cell construction
- Roadworks
- Earthworks
Due to sustained growth, they are opening a new office in South East Queensland and seeking a talented Civil Estimator to take the reins of their estimating and tendering processes. This is more than just a job it’s an opportunity to grow with the business, eventually building and leading the civil estimating team.
Your Role
As a Civil Estimator, you will:
- Oversee the end-to-end estimating and tendering process—from initial tender stages to project handover.
- Formulate tender estimates and quotes using first principles.
- Develop tender programs and detailed methodologies for submissions.
- Travel to project sites as needed to gain hands-on insights.
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and project delivery teams.
- Work autonomously, managing your time and priorities effectively.
Reporting Structure:
- You’ll report directly to the Managing Director, adopting a 10-80-10 approach:
- 10% collaboration for tender briefing
- 80% independent execution of tender submission
- 10% final review and submission
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has in-depth knowledge of civil infrastructure construction methodologies, particularly around pipeline construction and earthworks.
- Is experienced in first-principles estimating and tendering processes.
- Possesses excellent communication skills for supplier and subcontractor negotiations.
- Is open to learning and site visits for process familiarization.
- Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
