Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Boilermaker Welder to join our operation in Savage River.

Based out of our Mobile Equipment Boilermaker workshop, this position will undertake minor and major repairs to the Mobile Mining Fleet, including Caterpillar Haul Trucks, Graders, D10T Dozers, Hitachi Excavators/Shovels, Sandvik and Atlas Copco drill rigs. Repairs include truck trays, buckets and clams, general fabrication, and breakdown activities.

Roster: 7/7 rotating shift roster

Day to day

In this role you will be responsible for:

Working on a 7/7 rotating shift roster
Undertaking minor and major repairs on the Mining equipment at Savage River Operation
Breakdown repairs in pit
Communicating with other technical and operational staff on site
Assisting in continuous improvement and process development projects within the Mobile Maintenance team

Who you are

To be successful in this role you have:

Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent
Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office would be an advantage
Previous mining experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi Equipment
Current full manual drivers’ license
Current high-risk licenses- Forklift, EWP, Dogman and Crane tickets would be advantageous

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.

Savage River

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to Grange's pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.

The Savage River worksite is only an hour and half drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
