TWe are actively seeking a highly skilled Assessor/Estimator to join our team at SHBR Group. As an Insurance Building Repair and Remediation Specialist, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in restoring properties to their pre-loss condition. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing and estimating property damage, ensuring accurate and efficient processes, will be self-motivated, able to work without supervision and a self-starter.
Desirable Skills and Experience will include:
- Trade Background: Preferably in the construction/Carpentry arena, but not an absolute requirement. Utilize your strong trade background to assess and estimate property damage accurately. This includes a deep understanding of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
- Insurance Experience: Bring your expertise in insurance building repair assessing and estimating to the table. Previous experience in a similar role is a must, enabling you to navigate the complexities of insurance claims seamlessly
- Claim Management Portals: Familiarity with insurer claim management portals is highly desirable, or an ability and willingness to learn quickly!
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using estimation software and tools. Must be proficient using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information, and deal professionally with all stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in both assessment and documentation.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work efficiently in a collaborative environment, as well as the ability to be self-managed and work alone when required.
- Flexible: Be open to and embrace change, be able to learn quickly and think “outside the box” to achieve results.
- Preferably based in the Greater Sydney area.
